Who are the Band Boosters?

The Band Boosters are the behind the scenes backbone of the band program. They include parents of band members who want to see the best for their children and make the band experience better for all of the participants. Boosters provide adult supervision for performances and traveling, and organize fundraisers for the band. In addition to this, the boosters have social events for the band such a Halloween night and the end of season Band Banquet. The Band Boosters program is open to any parent and does not require a large time commitment. Meetings take place once per month on the first Tuesday of each month and should last no longer than one hour.

Volunteer Roles

Football Volunteer Roles

Concession Stand – The band parent organization must have at least 5 band parents volunteer in the concession stand at every home football game.
Concession stand volunteers must have a food handlers card. Concession stand volunteers handle money, cook food, give food to patrons, and purchase food from grocery stores when needed. This is the most important volunteer role at football games, as we make a large part of our fundraising money through the concession stand.

50-50 Volunteer – The band parent organization must have at least 1 band parent volunteer running the 50-50 giveaway at each home football game. This volunteer takes money, gives out tickets, and selects a winner for each game.

Water Volunteer –The band parent organization must have one parent who assists in filling a water cooler filled with ice and water bottles, and gives this to students at all football games. The water cooler and the water is provided by the boosters.

Band Trailer – The band parent organization must have one band parent pull the band trailer to and from all away varsity football games. The band parent organization does not own a truck to pull the trailer with, so the truck must be provided. The volunteer for this will have their mileage reimbursed. They will communicate with the band director for when to arrive to pull the trailer in either direction.

Band Competition Volunteer Roles

Pit Crew – The band parent organization must have at least 5 band parents volunteer to serve in the pit crew for each band competition that we attend. The pit crew helps move equipment at competitions as needed. This usually means moving front ensemble equipment to and from the stadium and the band trailer. The pit crew usually receives free admission to the competition, however they do not always receive free admission.

Band Trailer – The band parent organization must have one band parent pull the band trailer to and from all band competitions. The band parent organization does not own a truck to pull the trailer with, so the truck must be provided. The volunteer for this will have their mileage reimbursed. They will communicate with the band director for when to arrive to pull the trailer in either direction.
