Meet our band director

Jeremy Garcia


Jeremy C. Garcia, Music Educator, will begin his next year as Director of Bands at Agua Fria Union High School in Avondale, Arizona this coming school year. His responsibilities include direction of the Concert Band, Beginning Band, Marching Band, Choir, Music for Students with Special Needs, Guitar, and our newest course, Piano.

Mr. Garcia graduated from University of Pittsburgh with his Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in French in 2014. He quickly went to West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Teaching Certification. Mr. Garcia was honored in his college career upon being selected for the Dean’s List of his universities as well as speaking in front of hundreds in music leadership conferences in both 2015 and 2016. He also had the privilege of performing in Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Era Field, home of the Buffalo Bills, and in the 2015 Macy’s Day Parade. Mr. Garcia is fortunate to have benefited from extraordinary teachers and mentors throughout his education and career, including Bill Powers, Greg Martin, Andrew Yozviak, and Kim Reighley. In December 2020, Mr. Garcia completed his Master’s of Music Education degree at Arizona State University. While completing his M.M., Mr. Garcia studied under professors: Jill Sullivan, Elliott Tackitt, Evan Tobias, and more.

Mr. Garcia began his teaching career with Vivace Productions in West Chester, PA where he worked alongside Drum Major Academy, teaching marching band leaders from across the country. Following this he worked at Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA, where he lead the woodwinds and assisted with the marching band, competing in the USBands National Championships in Allentown, PA. In addition to competing in USBands events, Mr. Garcia also worked as an Assistant Event Coordinator for USBands where he helped run marching band events.
